Essay On Plantation Of Trees

PLANTING trees is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and its reward continues even after the death of the person who plants a tree.

Today the world is facing environmental problems. Global warming, ozone depletion and pollution are burning issues. Solution to these problems lies in planting more trees.

Trees and plants are the prime source of environmental purification and beautification. Trees inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, reduce temperature and create a healthy effect, both physically and psychologically, on human beings.

In fact, forests are the only natural industry which produces oxygen. According to international standards, area under forests should form at least 25 per cent of the total land inhabited by a human population.

But the area covered by forests in our country has been reduced to about 4.8 per cent of the total land. These statistics do not include the frontier areas. In such circumstances we should plant more and more trees.

In pursuance of this resolve, students of a public sector medical college of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organised a tree plantation campaign.

These students devoted their Sunday to planting saplings and beautification of the college. The environment of the college lawns was drastically changed in just one day because of tree plantation by these students.

It is true that the youth of Pakistan possesses a great potential and spirit to change society. They can change every negative into a positive aspect.

They can change any calamity into an opportunity. All they need is proper guidance and encouragement.

Considering the zeal of the college students we can say that the future of Pakistan is bright, secure and prosperous because future belongs to the youth.

Natural gas & deforestation ONLY three per cent of Pakistan’s land consists of forests, which are rapidly decreasing because of growing population. Deforestation is resulting in global warming. Trees not only provide oxygen, but also beautify the environment.

A large number of people are chopping down trees to use wood as a fuel to cook food.

Although Balochistan provides natural gas to the country from Sui, ironically it is badly affected by deforestation as a number of cities do not have natural gas to cook food.

As Balochistan is deprived of natural gas, people have no option but to use wood as fuel in their households.

Some people are also involved in cutting trees for their personal gains and businesses like making furniture and sport goods. I request the government to provide Balochistan natural gas which is its right.

It will also stop deforestation in the province.

Tree plantation means planting more trees in a planned way. It is very necessary to the environment. Trees are our best friends. They give us oxygen. They also give us shelter, shade, foods, fruits etc. They help our environment in many ways. They prevent soil erosion. They make our land fertile. They save us from droughts, floods, cyclones etc. If there are no trees our country will turn into desert. Different kinds of natural disasters will come. People will suffer from the shortage of food, shade and oxygen. A country should have at least 25% forest lands. But there are no sufficient forest lands in our country. So, necessary steps should be taken to have more trees. People should be conscious about planting more trees. The mass media like TV and radio can play a great role in this regard. To lead peaceful life, we have to plant more trees.Introduction:

Without oxygen we cannot live for a moment even. Without oxygen, the animal world will die away. Trees make the oxygen and spreads it in the air. While inhaling air we take the oxygen with it into our bodies and live in life.

Carbon dioxide makes our atmosphere or rather our environment poisonous for us. Trees consume this carbon dioxide and thereby makes our environment safe for us.

Trees also give us many other benefits. We get fruit and flowers from the trees. Trees provide us with fuel and timbers. In summer, they bear the scorching rays of the sun and give us cool shade under them. Trees in our forests draw the rain from the clouds floating in the sky. Trees in our forests check the quick flow of rain-water and thereby check the occurrence of high flood in our rivers. On the other hand, this slow process of water-flow gives us good water all throughout the year through streams and streamlets with their sweet melodious music.

Trees conserve our soil. This soil-conservation is very important for our corn-fields. Trees make own land fertile by their fallen leaves. By their fallen leaves they make new soil for us. Most of the forest-products are the products from the trees in the forests, absentee of trees will cause a lot of harm to us and to our life. So the number of trees should be multiplied by the tree-plantation by us.

We should plant trees near our houses and near our villages for a forestation with a view to raising new forests. We should plant trees on the two sides of the roads and paths and on the four sides of our corn-fields. We should plant trees on all the vacant places in our village on towns where we live, and we should advise all to do so.

Selection of trees for plantation:

We should make good selection of trees to be planted, in consideration of the nature of land and the kind of climate. Cocoanut trees grow well in the sea-coasts. Plantain trees grow well near the ponds. We should know which place is fit for which tree. To know this we should get our soil tested by the experts and plant the kinds of trees accordingly. Collection of plants to be planted should be made from the Government nurseries in consultation with the experts there.

Time for tree-plantation:

Generally, rainy season is the best time for tree-plantation. Most of the tree-plants thrive well in rainy season. Still then, we should seek advice from the Government agricultural experts about the appropriate time for the plantation of a particular kind of tree.

After-care:

Only planting the trees is not enough. Because, planted trees may be destroyed by animals or otherwise, or may die for regular service of water. So we should be particular about the after-care of the planted trees. We should be very careful about the newly-planted trees.

Conclusion:

Trees should be regularly planted to save the mankind and the animal world. Tree plantation and its after-care is a pleasing work too. We can get much pleasure in planting trees and in taking care of them. Students should plant trees in their school-compounds and in the front-yards, backyards and side-yards of their schools and near their own houses and in other places wherever possible. They should explain to their neighbours the goodness of tree-plantation and encourage them to plant and care new trees.

Tree Plantation

Trees are the most important gift of nature. Since the dawn of civilization, man has a close relationship with trees. Trees help us in maintaining the ecological balance which is essential for the existence of life on earth. They are our best friends. They play an important role in our life and economy.

Trees are useful to us in many ways. We get different kinds of nutritious fruits from trees. Trees produce oxygen and reduce carbon dioxide in the air and thus help us to exist on this earth. Trees give shade and shelter to people, wild life and birds. They make our lands fertile and save the soil from erosion. We get timber from trees. We use timbers in making houses, furniture etc. We also can earn a lot of money by selling fruits and timber. Above all, a tree is a big saving for our future generation.

Bangladesh is mostly a flat and riverine country. Lands of this country are highly suitable for the growth and development of trees. Sea beaches, low-lying unused lands, sides of the highways and roads can be brought under the scheme of tree plantation. Again the hilly areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts and Sylhet can also be brought under the tree plantation programme.

June and July are the most suitable period for planting trees in our country. Both government and private sectors should come forward to raise consciousness among people about the importance of tree plantation.

Trees and forests bear a great impact on climate. A country needs trees to ensure a cool and healthy climate for her people. If we destroy trees randomly, one day the country will turn into a desert. As a result, the country will face a great crisis as our country is mostly dependent on agriculture.

However, tree plantation should be one of our important duties. We must plant trees as more as possible in every available place.

Trees are one of the main factors that constitute our natural environment. If in a given area, trees do not exist in adequate proportion to men, animals, soil, air and water, the ecological balance gets disturbed and life becomes difficult or impossible. One of the main sources from which we meet our need for heat energy is fire-wood supplied by trees. Trees cover a great deal of our food deficiency by providing fruits and vitamins. They supply timber for various uses and give shade and shelter to the people. They attract clouds and cause rainfall that stops desertification process. They prevent soil erosion and make the land fertile. They create enchanting scenes and move us with joy and delight. They also supply barks and leaves required for making medicines. Thus trees are our great friends and they are useful to us in many ways.

There are people who are not aware of the great benefits that we derive from trees. They thoughtlessly destroy trees and plants so much so that our forest areas have become bare. The bad effects of the scarcity of trees have already been showing up. Thus plantation of trees in order to cover the gap is essential for our existence.

Our government is quite aware to the situation that is in the offing. Thus eve year in the rainy season it is announced by the relevant functionaries of the government that plants will belted in the towns and villages during a specified period-called Tree Plantation Fortnight’. This movement of afforestation has, by now, gained a momentum. People have become aware of the utility of trees and their economic value. During the fortnight the relevant departments of the government supply thousands and thousands of plants of different varieties to the people for plantation.

Every citizen of Bangladesh must take interest in planting trees. The tree plantation movement must be made successful. Not only in the countryside, in towns and cities also should people come forward to join this movement. Every house, school, college, hospital and other institutions should be up and doing to plant various types of trees all the year round in their yards and premises.

Introduction: Tree plays a vital role of keeping balance in the natural ecosystem. It decorates the nature with scenic beauty. It gives us fruit, shade and shelter. We cannot imagine a place without tree.

Importance: Tree inhales carbon-dioxide and exhales oxygen. We exhale carbon-dioxide and inhale oxygen. So trees act in keeping the proportions of gases in air in a balanced condition. Trees emit vapours and thus keep the atmosphere moist. Huge number of tree at a place plays a vital role in keeping the rain fall frequent, the green colour of the leaves is also comfortable for our eyes. So from the view point of environment, trees are very important to us

Carelessness about trees: In the past, tree were plenty of tree and forests, But with the growth of population, these trees were chopped and very few people cared to plant new trees, So our country is now at a deficit in necessary timber. Our people must be convinced of the need for planting trees. Every year “Planting week” is held and a few trees are planted in towns. This is not sufficient for the need of timber for millions.

Proper Time for planting: June and July are the proper time for planting trees. Planting week must not be observed in towns only. In village tree will be planted by every family. Trees will be planted on the banks of ponds on both sides of highways, on the banks of dams, by the side of frail lines. More planting trees will not do only. They are to be taken care of by giving fences, pulling out weeds, using fertilizer and by watering them when necessary.

Usefulness: People must realize that trees provide them with vitamins by supplying fruits. In the village we see very few mango tree, coconut tree, black berry tree, guava tree etc. furniture and fuel. They sake their houses from cyclone and give shade from the scorching heat of the sun.

Conclusion: Tree will solve food problem to some extent. This will reduce the pressure on rice, Seasonal fruits from trees will provide people with vitamins and help people to get health. If each and every member of the community understands the protecting of trees and takes active measures for planting and protecting them, we can hope that our country will be self-sufficient in wood.
